Deborah Schurman-Kauflin The New Predator Women Who Kill Profiles of Female Serial Killers 2000.pdf (Size: 1.07 MB)
Description
Though the sensational title is a bit of a stretch the author reports that an estimated 50 to 75 serial killers are operating in the US at any time, of which seven or eight may be women this study provides an interesting addition to an area where criminologists have historically focused on men. The author weaves stories of various female serial/mass murderers in between clinical observations in such a way that the book is "enjoyable" to read. With an emphasis on prevention of serial/mass murder by describing characteristics of convicted female serial/mass murderers, this book should help teachers recognize which kids need help. And it could, along with the services of a qualified profiler, help law enforcement professionals solve "unsolved" crimes. But it's also a very good read and easy to understand, so those in search of a good book will enjoy it as well. Sharing WidgetAll Comments |
