Deepstar Six (fan-edit)

Deepstar six. One of a slew of underwater themed movies released back in the day.

With a small budget and a script filled with predictable moments the movie comes across as a underwhelming distraction on par with watching paint dry on an obvious fake background.

It gets to be about as fun as watching 2 actors (you do not care about) pretend to be in love or someone pretending that small models look the same as the real things themselves.

To be fair, the there was some real acting chops showed during the filming. Some really gripping scenes. It's to bad most are wasted in what comes across as a love story set in the middle of danger, far beneath the waves. Wait a minute, that sounds a bit like the abyss. .

With some of the fake underwater scenes removed and some of the tv like segments (no love scenes etc) , a more acceptable story rears it's "watch me" head.

Plus it has Bj from Bj and the Bear!
