Very strange - the audio was fantastic (192kbps bit rate) and the video x264 settings were very good, like the encoder knew what he was doing. But then the video bit rate was a mere 524kbps. Granted it's a low motion film, but still, 524kbps is so low that any attempt to view this on anything larger than a laptop screen is going to result in serious quality loss. It's odd to see everything except the video bit rate be good on an encode like this. There were, however, about 8 different subtitles that were soft-coded, which was nice.
