In Austria sect. 278a "criminal organisation" of the criminal code was used against 13 animal rights activists from different organisations. The trial started on 21. may 2008. This documentry was made during the longest court case in Austrian history. The court case files consisted of more than 200,000 pages and the duration of the trial was over a year.

Even though there was no evidence against the activists what so ever, the prosecutor claimed their legal work in animal welfare organisations would prove the criminal actions of the activists since there was damage to property in Austria. His point was, that who could have done it, if not those who are obviously most committed to animal welfare work in public?
