They formed in 2012 and are a blues/rock band. The band is made up of five members - Frank Grimaldi on vocals, Mike Conley on drums, Bryan Miller on bass, Pete Zajicek on keys and vocals and Joe Stanley playing guitars and vocals. They just recently released a new CD called Coming Clean in 2014. The band won the Detroit Blues Society "Blues Challenge" in 2013 and then went to Memphis, Tennessee to compete in the International Blues Challenge with bands from all over the country. They then came home to start working on Coming Clean with producer and legend Josh Ford. Hailing from the outskirts of the Motor City, Dirty Basement Blues is a band comprised of 5 guys who are as hard working and gritty as the town they represent. The group was initially formed in late 2011 after teaming up for a studio project to record some new tunes. Several of them had played together in another project together for nearly ten years, and were eager to embark on a new musical adventure. With their high energy live performances, stellar musical ability, and uniquely crafted original material, Dirty Basement Blues is a true original and a band that is not to be missed. In 2014 they recorded their debut album "Coming Clean" and continue to wow their audiences. This song has guitar playing that grabs the listeners attention and a deep "mmm" from Grimaldi that leads into keyboards and his perfect bluesy voice that reminds listeners of Paul Rodgers from Bad Company. The song keeps the guitar and bass beats going and the keyboards add an irresistible element to the song. "Coming Home" has a thumping bass line and a very funky feel to the whole song. "Get up" starts right off rocking with a strong guitar and soulful lyrics and the chorus is one you will want to sing along with. "Just Like a Poison" slows things down with soulful singing from Grimaldi and "Back to the Eyes" has a great beat that runs through the whole song and the guitar playing is amazing. For those who love rock with the perfect mix of blues this is the perfect album. The musicians are excellent and Grimaldi has an amazing voice for singing the blues.
