Description



One of Dufay's few surviving masses, that intended in honor of St. James the Greater is among his most eloquent works. By turns ecstatic and contemplative, it presents in some respects an ideal of the early Franco-Flemish school, in which a remarkable technique is sublimated within a work of great ingenuity and late medieval expressiveness.

Bio, full Latin texts and English translations, and an essay in English, French, and German are included. Transfers are now made at 256 kBits/s, directly from the disc.
