E M Forster - A Room With A View (2007) - AVI/PAKG

A Room With a View tells the story of Lucy Honeychurch, a young Englishwoman, who in 1912 visits Italy with her cousin, Charlotte Bartlett. While there, they meet a host of interesting characters, including the novelist Eleanor Lavish, the tourist Mr Emerson, and his son, George.



George falls in love with Lucy but Charlotte seeing this whisks her charge away to Rome. It is only when they return to England that Lucy again meets George, however by this time she is engaged to Cecil Vyse.



This adaptation of the Forster classic is far more gritty than the better known 1985 film starring Helena Bonham-Carter and covers themes that the earlier film does not, such as the implicit homosexuality of The Reverend Mr. Beebe.
