The release was succeeded by a second single, "You Need Me, I Don't Need You", in August 2011—which peaked at number four in the United Kingdom. Sheeran released his debut studio album, +, on September 9, 2011—which saw the musician claim further acclaim when it topped the UK Albums Chart and was certified as four times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry for shipments of 1,200,000 units.

The album spawned a further three singles, including "Lego House", which reached the top five in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
