All three are proven specialists of modal music. The two Germans try it, to bring the largely oral tradition of music of the Middle Ages, which was hardly quoted back to life. Request of the Iraqi is that so far, not dying to see from generation to generation, from ear to ear traditional Arabic music with central Baghdad, which also has medieval roots. Went a few years ago Western musicians in the Arab countries, in order to be on site and very close to the original, you can meet today in Cologne ... or Berlin, or Paris, or London. But no longer in Baghdad, Iraq, Iran or Syria ... On his first CD, the ensemble presents contemporary modal music based on medieval songs of the 13th century from France and Arab classical music. The two instrumentalists, Bassem Hawar and Dominik Schneider, accompany the singer Maria Jonas in the traditional way - modal improvisation.
