Dit hebben ze gedaan door emoties te onderdrukken: boeken, kunst en muziek zijn streng verboden,
en gevoelens zijn een misdaad waar de doodstraf op staat. John Preston is een hoge
overheidsbeambte die verantwoordelijk is voor de vervolging van mensen die deze wetten overtreden.
Wanneer hij zijn dosis anti-gevoelens drugs niet krijgt begint hij zich af te vragen of hij wel
doet wat goed is. Dit brengt hem in een rechtstreeks conflict met zijn superieuren.

music are strictly forbidden and feeling is a crime punishable by death. Cleric John Preston (Bale)
is a top ranking government agent responsible for destroying those who resist the rules. When he

to enforce the strict laws of the new regime, suddenly becomes the only person capable of overthrowing it.
