Troy Billings (Jacob Wysocki) is zeventien, lijdt aan overgewicht en is
suïcidaal. Net op het moment dat hij voor een bus wil springen, wordt hij
gered door Marcus (Matt O'Leary), een charmante muzikant die vroegtijdig van
school is gegaan. De twee beginnen een ongemakkelijke vriendschap wanneer
Marcus hem uitdaagt om de drummer van een punkrockband te worden. Wanneer
hun vriendschap groeit, begint Troys vader zich steeds meer zorgen te maken
over de vriendschap van zijn zoon.

Troy Billings is seventeen, overweight, and suicidal. Just as he's about to
jump in front of a bus, he's saved by Marcus, a charming high school
dropout/street musician. The two begin an uneasy friendship when Marcus
enlists the musically challenged Troy to become the drummer in a newpunk rock
band. As Troy's relationship with Marcus grows, Troy's father becomes
increasingly concerned about his son's new friendship.
