The original recording has a farily bright, tinny sound. I've not gone too far from that, but I have done some changes. One is re-balancing the frequency response, to fill out the mids and lower end a bit more, while easing out some high-mid frequencies that gave the record a labored, strained feel. The EQ should now be a bit more relaxed overall.

Dynamics have been reworked to try to ease some life back into the recording, since the original version is quite brickwalled and has some obvious, non-transparent volume ducking. The overall volume is now also lower since I did not want to clip any of the new transients.

I've also reworked the balance of mid and side elements, to try to improve clarity further drums, and adding some more weight to the guitars.

The result is a recording that no longer has a strained, flat sound, but has opened up both in EQ and dynamics. Instruments now have the opportunity to free themselves up a bit and play in their own space and dynamic range.
All while still trying to preserve the general soul of the original recording.
