The brochure for Whispering Falls Resort had been reshaped into a cylinder-like tube as Carmen Davis had nervously twisted the pamphlet over and over again during the final leg of her journey. The descriptions surrounding what to expect during her visit were studied so much, she carried them all by memory. The extravagance of the resort and the history of the island drew her in. The brochure was masterfully written as everything was presented as “a perfect experience.”

Carmen imagined the people that she was sure to meet, the man on page 3, who extended a long stemmed flute, toasting with an attractive brunette in a red gown. Romance was apparent between them and as Carmen placed herself into that picture, she fantasized and imagined. When the ship neared the dock, she was filled with great anticipation.

The reason Ms. Davis was traveling to the island was to come to terms with her painful divorce. During the early years with her husband Travis, she believed in love, but soon after, she vowed never to make that mistake again.
Carmen was hoping that Whispering Falls would be a new beginning for her. She carried so much promise regarding her time there….so much promise until what she imagined was introduced to reality and it began to fall apart. Not ten minutes after her arrival, she learned there was a roadblock in the way…an angry-beautiful roadblock named….Dora Alavaro.
