I’d put in weeks or months of effort, or sometimes tens of thousands of dollars only to discover how bad the idea was when nobody wanted what I built. It took years before I understood deeply the concept that that picking the right startup idea will almost always take up-front iteration, testing, and brutally honest assessments.
