Frankie Lymon, born Joseph Franklin Lymon September 30, 1942 in Harlem and died February 27, 1968 in the same city, was an American black singer of the 1950s and 1960s known for having been a member of The TeenaEn 1954, Lymon found at age of 12 years a doo-wop local group known as The Cup Cities to a show in a school talent. The group of Herman Santiago, Joe Negroni, Sherman Games and Jimmy Merchant, Frankie became friends with the band's singer, Herman Santiago, and he eventually became a member of the group, which became known as The Ermines then The First. Dennis Jackson, a native of Columbus, Georgia, was one of the main influences of Lymon and donated $ 500 personnel, which allowed starting the Lymon.gers career from 1954 to 1957.
On February 27, 1968, Lymon was found dead in the bathroom at the home of his grandmother; death was caused by a heroin overdose. He was 25 years old. Lymon was buried in Saint Raymond Catholic cemetery in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx in New York, in New York.
