The Windows startup disk allows computers without XP CD-ROM to automatically perform a clean installation of the operating system startup. This disk will automatically load the drivers from the CD-ROM and launch a new installation of Windows XP. You can not perform update from a boot disk. Disks Windows XP Home Edition startup does not work for Windows XP Professional installations and vice-versa. Boot disks Windows XP SP1 and XP SP1a are not interchangeable.
