Metropolis is a 1927 German expressionist film in the science-fiction genre directed by Fritz Lang. Produced in Germany during a stable period of the Weimar Republic, Metropolis is set in a futuristic urban dystopia and makes use of this context to explore the social crisis between workers and owners in capitalism. The film was produced in the Babelsberg Studios by Universum Film A.G. (UFA). The most expensive silent film ever made, it cost approximately 5 million Reichsmark

Great - Thank You.
al last! excelent quality and sound, love this version I was 15 when it came out. thank u!
the only thing is the videos is 1920s and the audio is 1980s. i dont quite understand but its whatever. over all a very good copy.
I have been looking for this version since I first saw it in Seattle in 1983 (I think). It's set to very appropriate modern music with some scenes very tastefully colorized. Even if you are a B/W Purist of Metropolis, I wholly recommend giving this a watch. I'm certain you will enjoy it. I'm rating this at 10/10 for A & V because of the shear age of this wonderful Fritz Lange Sci-Fi Drama. This movie as managed to survive for nearly one hundred years all due to devout fans.
