Plot / Synopsis:

Renos Haralambidis presents the story of two strangers (Nikos and Sofia), who merely out of coincidence see their lives becoming entwined. As they stroll through nameless streets and share their thoughts on everyday struggles, they eventually develop that sort of intimate relationship that no one expects in a faceless urban environment. The film captures the director's version of the human condition and is therefore delivered in a deeply poetic and intimate way, while it portrays a scenic, summery depiction of the otherwise crowded city of Athens. Inspired by pioneers of indie filmmaking like Jim Jarmusch, "Cheep Smokes" is a tale that will appeal equally to city lovers, to those who share an existentialist point of view and to everyone who believes in the quest of finding love in our post-modern world.
