Rude, Mississippi State University About the Author Colin Guy Scanes is a Professor in the Department of Poultry Science at Mississippi State University where he has also served as Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies . He is also currently a faculty member of the Center of Excellence in Equine Science at Rutgers-The State University of New Jersey. Formerly, Dr. Scanes was a Professor in the Departments of Animal Science and Biomedical Science at Iowa State University. Among his awards and honors, Dr. Scanes received the Bouffault International Animal Agriculture Award in 2004, and is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and of the Poultry Science Association. Dr. Scanes is also the author or editor of 12 books, 68 reviews and book chapters, 263 refereed papers and 220 abstracts. In addition to his faculty duties, Dr. Scanes is the Editor-in-Chief of Poultry Science and a member of the editorial boards for Domestic Animal Endocrinology, The Journal of Experimental Zoology, Proceedings for the Society of Experimental Biology, Animal Biotechnology, General and Comparative Endocrinology, and Critical Reviews in Poultry Biology.
