About Fundoscopy Made Easy

It is a pleasure to be invited to contribute a foreword for ‘Fundoscopy
Made Easy’. Acquiring knowledge and mastering clinical skills remain
core to training at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Perfecting
and maintaining the skills involved in ophthalmoscopy remain
challenging for most doctors in training. In this respect the introductory
chapters on equipment, techniques and normal findings take the
reader in an orderly fashion through the basics.

Over the years technology
has advanced and the descriptions of the newer techniques for
visualising the retina are important even for the nonspecialist.
The sequence of the following chapters takes the reader through a
systematic and comprehensive review of the various retinal pathologies.
The layout is consistent between chapters and makes the whole
text highly readable with an appropriate level of detail related to not
only diagnosis but also treatment options for the various conditions.


I am sure all readers will be impressed by the quality of the image
reproduction. The authors are to be congratulated on producing a volume
which is more than simply an atlas of pathology.
