Selective Download

You can skip downloading of language files you don't need. Here is the list of selective files:

• setup-fitgirl-selective-english.bin
  
• setup-fitgirl-selective-russian.bin
  
• setup-fitgirl-selective-french.bin
  
• setup-fitgirl-selective-german.bin
  

In example, if you want to launch the game with German UI/Subtitles/Voiceovers - skip all "selective" files,
but download setup-fitgirl-selective-German.bin & all main files (1-9).


No fonts and texts inside the game?

If you're missing fonts or not seeing them show properly, please try the following instructions below after exiting GalCiv3.

-Navigate to this directory: Galactic Civilizations IIIFonts
-Run this EXE: gc3_font_setup.exe
-Start up GalCiv3 and see if the fonts show up properly.

If you are still not seeing the fonts, try deleting a few files listed below in this directory: C:ProgramDataStardockGalactic Civilizations III

K2FontData_Small.fontdata
K2FontTexture_Small.dds

Afterwards try verifying the game's cache files. Open up Steam and right click on the game and select properties, then choose the option 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache' like so: http://screencast.com/t/QwZ9xVyT

After the game files are read/repaired attempt to run the game again in Steam and see if that fixes the issue.

And lastly, if none of the previous recommendations worked for you, please do the following:
- Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
- A "Run" window will appear. Please paste the path below in the box and click OK:

In the folder that appears, find your "prefs.ini" file and open it with a text editor (Notepad for example). Find the following line:

UISize=Small

And change it to the following:

UISize=Medium

Problems during installation?

If you experience errors (Xdelta or Unarc ones) during installation, try the following things:

• Make sure your Windows username doesn't contain non-latin symbols. Use only latin characters & numbers
  
• Re-hash torrent (in Utorrent point to the game entry, stop download/upload, then click right mouse button, then click "Force Re-check")
  
• Disable antivirus, it can delete installation files or cracks on-the-fly
  
• Make sure you have at least as two times more virtual memory, than actual, physical RAM
  
• Make sure you have enough space on target drive & on C: drive (or whatever system drive you have)
  
• Try install the game NOT to C: (system) drive OR specifically to C: drive (Windows rights system is a tricky thing)
  
• Check your Windows folder (and below) for unarc.dll - if this file exists, delete it
  
• Run setup with proper rights, as shown on this image:
