Installation...

1 - Run the Setup Executable, choose directory, etc.


2 - Game setup runs on first launch. Click checkbox for OpenGL and use OpenGL, necessary for modern GPUs.


3 - In game make sure to check all options menus and enable the mouse, set it to Mouselook mode and switch the controls to your liking.

4 - Replace "MAIN.exe" with the one on this site. Fixes it to be 32bit on OpenGL.

Seems to run fine while in OpenGL mode, although the only way I could get the resolution to fit my monitor was using 1600x1200 (Widescreen/non-native resolution available most likely). Also it was VERY weird on first load, after restarting it ran fine.

If you were a fan of the Descent series back in the day, I strongly suggest you look at NeonXSZ. It's a game I've been following on ModDB (Neon has their own site though), and it's almost a modernized (Not like popular modernized thank god) Descent / Freelancer. It seems to be mostly "Indoors" like descent but they haven't shown later parts of the game, also it's still in alpha. Anyways, definately check that out.
