Description  This is the 2015 Remaster of the Gong album "Camembert Électrique", originally released in 1971. When thinking of great albums of 1971, most might come up with "Led Zeppelin IV", "Masters Of Reality", "Fragile", "Bryter Layter", "There's a Riot Goin' On", "Electric Warrior", or maybe even "Faust"; but few would have Gong's "Camembert Électrique" on the top of their heads. This amazing masterpiece of an album was originally released in France around October of 1971 but it didn't catch the public's full attention until it was re-issued in the U.K. in 1974 for the same price of a single (along with "The Faust Tapes") on Virgin Records. The only other Gong album that might triumph over it is 1973's "Flying Teapot", the beginning of the epic "Radio Gnome Trilogy". If you haven't given this album a listen yet, I highly recommend it; and if you love it, I highly encourage you buy it and support the surviving members. P.S.: If you do buy the new 2015 Remaster, make sure not to buy anything else Gong related through Charly Records, since the surviving member receive no royalties from anything past the "Camembert Électrique" album (though I think the "Magick Brother" album is alright). If their official site is correct, we'll be seeing a nice box set of the "Radio Gnome Trilogy" albums through Universal in the coming months, using the "actual" master tapes and with full collaboration from the surviving members.
