Description

We don't have any surviving portraits of Gottlieb Muffat, son of the composer Georg Muffat. That said, we have plenty of surviving music, especially keyboard works. Much of it remains as yet unpublished, though not for lack of quality. And whether Handel and Muffat knew one another or not, Muffat did purchase several of Handel's scores, and Handel borrowed repeatedly from Muffat in his usual, take-this-idea-and-change-it-dramatically way.
