Any news for the quest fix?

Can't pickup 1st quest...is this the same for the early release Steam version or is the uploader just wasting all our time & bandwidth ffs?
Also, no multiplier to speak of, even though the game should support local co-op, but that might just be this pre-alpha version. Can anyone with the Steam version also verify that pls?
