Grand Theft Auto III is an action game for PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC Grand Theft Auto series, developed by DMA Design (now Rockstar North) and published by Rockstar Games. It is the first 3D game in the series and third in total. It was launched in October 2001 for PlayStation 2, May 2002 for PC and Xbox in November 2003.

The game follows fictional character [3], betrayed by a friend during an armed robbery on a bank. He must climb in the hierarchy of criminals in the city in order to face this.

Like its predecessors, GTA III gives the player total freedom: you can stroll through the city, you can run missions, can commit crimes and various side quests.

Game concept and gameplay with 3D engine (a first for the GTA series) made in GTA III best-selling game in 2001 [4]. It is considered a turning point in the gaming industry because of the enormous implications they had on the industry [5]. The success of this game was essential for the popularity of the series. By 2008 have been released no less than five prologues before describing the events of GTA III. The game has generated much controversy due to scenes and violent or sexual implications.
