GTAIV 2012 essential modkit for Grand Theft Auto 4

This is a modpack for Grand Theft Auto 4, no credit taken here for the creation of these mods. Just simply wanting to share what we have compiled together using everything the internet had to offer. All mods work in single player missions. This is not for use with GTAIV's expansions, and it is not meant for multiplayer.

This will replace every car, truck, bike, helicopter. Some clothes, sounds, road textures, blood, and some other things we can't think of. Plus, Speedometer script, asi loader, c++ modding scripthook, and some other little stuff.

SINGLE PLAYER ONLY - PATCH 1.0.4.0 (included)

Vanilla installation, please.

Please remember, these are mods. This is not a studio release.

Before you begin, and after you
have a fresh GTAIV installed...

Open up Steam:
Go to your Games Library>
Right-Click on Grand Theft Auto IV>
Click Properties>
Click on UPDATES>
Change Automatic Updates from:

"Always Keep this game up to date"

- to -

"Do not automatically update this game"

STEP #1:
Run the included GTAIV patch to either
upgrade or downgrade to version 1.0.4.0

(GTAIV_MAINTENANCE_UPDATE_1040_EFIGS.exe)

STEP #2:
Installing Rockstar Games Social Club Client
and how to bypass it

***READ CAREFULLY***

Go to whatever directory that GTAIV installed

If from the disk it should be
C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar Games

If from Steam:
C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonGrand Theft Auto IV

-----------------------------

If you installed from the Disk, rename
the folder "Grand Theft Auto IV" to
something other than it's original name.

If you installed from Steam, rename the
folder "GTAIV" to something other than
it's original name.

Run Rockstar Games Social Club installer:
RGSC_1_1_3_0.exe

It will create the folders you just renamed,
either Grand Theft Auto IV -or- GTAIV

Copy the contents of these new folders into
the real Grand Theft Auto folder that you
just renamed.

Once copied, delete the folder that the
Social Club Tool created, and rename the
real Grand Theft Auto folder back to its
original name.

STEP #3:

Copy everything from the GTA2012mod.zip
file into the root of your Grand Theft Auto
folder, replace and rename everything.

If it did not ask you to rename anything,
then you did it wrong.

STEP #4:

In the ROOT of your Grand Theft Auto folder,
find the file "LaunchGTAIV.exe" and create a
shortcut to it on your desktop.

From now on, this is what you will be using
to start up your Grand Theft Auto IV.

Feel free to change the icon :)

STEP #5:
You WILL encounter the Taxi-Bug

Included is a ZIP file with 3 of the best
Taxi-Bug fixes that the internet has to offer
as of the year 2012:

RealTraffic (goes in GTAIV root folder)
Traffic Control (goes in GTAIV scripts folder)
TrafficFlow (goes in GTAIV scripts folder)

!!!DO NOT MIX THESE MODS!!!
!!!YOUR GTAIV WILL GLITCH THE HELL OUT!!!

Choose whichever one works best for you.
This difference is because of how good or
crappy your computer might be.

While it IS possible to mix
TrafficFlow and Traffic Control,
you'll need a beast of a computer to do it.

STEP #6:
ENB Settings make the game Beautiful!

Included is Gionight's ENB Graphic Setting.
It has been slightly modified to provide a
good balance between gameplay and in-game
cutscenes that are usually far too bright
in other ENB settings.

Gionight ENB Final Tweaked 2012 - SSDDMG.zip

Simply copy everything over to GTAIV's Root
folder and rename when asked to, just like
the last batch of files.

STEP #7:
Play your newly modded GTAIV. Have some fun.

of all the mods that we play with. We're
not saying that this is immediately going
to work for you. This is just the best that
we can provide you with. As with most mods,
there is a slight chance that you will not
be able to play due to some obscure hardware
issue. For that we are sorry, but there is
nothing that we can advise for you in that
situation. However we have compiled this
as best as we could, to be as universal as
we can think of. Also, if you are planning on
using this compiled modpack for a version
other than 1.0.4.0, don't ask us why it
doesn't work for you. Most mods are made for
version 1.0.4.0, that's just the way, it's
been like that for the last few years now.
Those modders that DO release mods for
versions other than 1.0.4.0 are truely
talented. Send your questions their way.
