X Factor’s Hannah Barrett says she understands why the studio audience booed
fellow contestant Tamera Foster when she was voted through to next week on the
show.
While 17-year-old Barrett lost her place on the competition despite her
note-perfect performances, Foster, 16, lived to sing another week afte muddling
her words on Saturday’s live show.
‘I was shocked because mainly it was our friends and family in the audience.
But then again I could kind of understand people’s frustration because she
had forgotten her words in the show before,’ the former Greggs worker told
Guilty Pleasures of the moment Foster was booed.
‘When she sang Impossible she didn’t forget her words she just came in a few beats
earlier so she had to stop and then jump back in. I think people
just got really frustrated because there are people in the competition who are
really consistent. Being this close to the final it’s crucial to be on point,
’ she said.
But Barrett is not bitter about the situation and has some advice for her
former room-mate.
‘At the end of the day it’s not her fault. I think she had a very stressful week.
She thinks a lot and lets a lot of things into her head. She needs to clear
her mind.’
The London girl is grateful for her fans’ reaction to her being voted off
on Sunday and is now eyeing post-show success.
She’s going to go far anyway. She’s going to
get a record deal. She’s going to be big! It happened with Jennifer Hudson
when she left early in the competition [on American Idol in 2004] and look at
her now. She’s a Grammy award winner.’
