The BAU investigates a murder in which the killer exposes the victim's vocal cords to literally play them like a cello. Meanwhile, Hannibal discovers that the killer, Tobias, murdered the victim as an attempt to gain Hannibal's attention but then makes an attempt to take Lecter’s life.
Will is driven to distraction by strange noises in his head and turns to Alana, in a romantic way, seeking peace and stability. Hannibal describes his relationship with Will to his therapist, Dr. Bedilia Du Maurier.

De BAU onderzoekt een moord waarbij de moordenaar de stembanden van het slachtoffer gebruikt om ze te bespelen als zijnde een cello. Ondertussen, ontdekt Hannibal dat de moordenaar, Tobias, het slachtoffer vermoordde in een poging om Hannibal's aandacht te krijgen, maar doet hij een poging om Lecter's leven te nemen.
Will wordt gedreven door vreemde geluiden in zijn hoofd en wendt zich tot Alana, op een romantische manier, op zoek naar vrede en stabiliteit. Hannibal beschrijft zijn relatie met Will met zijn therapeut, Dr Bedilia Du Maurier.
