Presents Haunted Collector S02E05 Haunted Rectory Grand Midway Ghosts HDTV XviD-AFG Haunted Collector is an American television reality series which airs on the Syfy cable television channel. The series features a team of paranormal investigators led by demonologist John Zaffis, who investigates alleged haunted locations with the hopes of identifying and removing any on-site artifacts or trigger objects that may be the source of the supposed paranormal or poltergeist activity. According to Zaffis, an artifact itself may either be of a paranormal nature such as a religious object once used in occult rituals or a non-paranormal nature such as an antique purchased at an estate sale or garage sale. Once an artifact is deemed to be a possible source of paranormal activity, it is removed from the premises in hopes that the activity in the location being investigated will be mitigated or cease altogether. The artifact is then housed in John Zaffis paranormal artifact museum. Do you ever feel like the eyes of a portrait might be following you across the room? Or, did you notice that a pen has mysteriously shifted from the location you last placed it? Sure, it could be a coincidence...or it could be paranormal. Ghosts and spirits inhabit more than just homes and buildings, they can live in objects, too. This summer, John Zaffis and his family are on a mission to ease your suspicions. The Zaffis family are renowned paranormal investigators, tracking down haunted items like paintings, guns, jewelry and dolls. Once identified, these obscure items are collected and stored in the family's museum, helping Johns clients bring normalcy back to their lives. Investigation procedure Client tour: John and Aimee walk-through with the client through their home finding possible haunted items. Phase 1 - daytime sweep: Brian, Chris, and Jason set up the equipment and go through home doing EMF sweeps.Historical research: Aimee and Jason go to the local library to dig up any historical information on the location. Phase 2 - nighttime investigation: The whole team (minus Aimee) investigates entire location at night using night vision. Item research: John brings the item he believes is haunted to an expert depending on what type of item it is and finds out more information about it. Final client meeting: John tells the client about the findings on their investigation and asks if they would like the haunted item removed. Placing haunted item in paranormal museum: John removes the haunted item and stores it in his "paranormal museum" in the basement of his house. Client follow-up (not aired): A voice-over of John tells the viewers about how the client is doing without the haunted item in their possession after a few weeks or months. Haunted Collector S02E05 - Haunted Rectory/Grand Midway Ghosts Air-date: Wednesday July 11th, 2012 Tonight, the Haunted Collector hears from Tim Brazeal of the Northwest Preservation Society, who is restoring a historic rectory in Sedamsville, Ohio. At least, they are trying to restore it, but there is something dark and evil going on in this once abandoned building. The Society has lost many of its volunteers who are afraid of the paranormal activity. Cabinets open and close, chairs slide around and sightings of a cloaked figure from the late 1800s. Worst of all is that something BIT Tim and he is VERY worried, naturally. There are old church robes, an old s uitcase moves, a door covered with scratches and tons of dog bowls and cages in the eerie basement. Oh! Did we mention a priest was allegedly murdered in the bedroom? That might explain something! If John and his team cant figure this out for Tim, he is going to abandon the restoration project because he is too frightened. The baseline sweep picked up nothing until Brian got scratched down the back in the basement! THREE major claw marks down his back!! Aimee and Jason cant find evidence of a priest being murdered, but they did uncover news reports of a dog-fighting sting that went down in that area. Could they have been using the rectory? Circumstantial evidence indicates yes! The team is going to bring a dog- Ceasar the Doberman- in to help with this investigation. All is fine until they bring Ceasar to the basement and the dog freaks!! It just refuses to go down there. Finally, John discovers an odd piece of wood and he fears his suspicions on what it could be might be true. He brings it to an animal shelter, where he learns it was a break stick used in brutal dogfights. So perhaps the scratching and "attacks" are the animals trying to get their attention rather than harm them. The next case is the Grand Midway Hotel in Winber Pennsylvania. It was once a hotel but now Blair Murphy and his girlfriend rent rooms to friends and artists. This is a coal-mining town and was once a rowdy place full of European immigrants, booze and prostitutes. Blair bought the building to renovate it, but right away he felt something was wrong. He hears whispers, voices and footsteps and many of his tenants have left in fear! In the building they have found old hotel registries, maps of coalmines with tunnels underneath the whole town and old furniture. Experiences include a chair moving on its own, growling noises and glowing figures. P.S.: There are some freaky paintings in this house! The pre-sweep indicated very high EMFs in the basement, with no electrical explanation, and whistle sound, but that was about it. Research revealed that there were over 400 deaths in the nearby mines. When there was an accident a whistle would blow and families would congregate in the area of the hotel to learn the identities of the victims. During the night sweep, however, Brian and Chris find an old headlamp that coal miners would wear! And John records another identical whistling sound. Two nights, the same sound. Hmmmmm.John learns that the headlamp he found was used by filling it with methane. Often, the lamps would explode, could that be the tragedy that is holding the spirit to this item? No one can say for certain, but the Blairs did report a decrease in activity once the lamp was removed.
