This is the weekly one-hour program from Hearts of Space Native American Radio Show, broadcast on the weekend of March 8, 2013. Music has been split to MP3s at VBR. Voice overs have been suppressed. The tracklist contains the program notes from the show, which also follows here. This particular hour of music is dedicated to recent film score music, with a strong East Indian flavor.

The unmistakable sound of East Indian vocal music — you wouldn't think anything this exotic would be from the soundtrack to a major motion picture. But these days, music from around the world plays an increasing role in film scores, while the classic orchestral score has taken on new dimensions and influences.

Over the years, we've devoted a series of programs to film music. Just as today's Ambient music creates a background for our lives, the original function of film music was to create an ambient background for the story — which is why it was called the "underscore."

Today you'll find some of the most talented musicians and composers working in film music. The budgets are relatively large, and the quality of the writing and the recording is unsurpassed. On this transmission of Hearts of Space, produced with help from film music specialist BRIAN SATTERWHITE...we return to the increasingly exotic world of contemporary film music, on a program called UNDERSCORE 2.

I have not disappeared. I still check in here regularly, if not every single day. And I still upload Hearts of Space radio shows. I put up 2 new ones today, as a matter of fact. (August 30, 2013).

I stream the show and record each track separately - the streaming program breaks the songs at points where the music stops playing, or I break the stream at those points manually, by following along with the program notes on screen as it plays and records.
The majority of people I've had contact have requested that I suppress the announcer's voice, and thus I do that. But I also provide the entire program notes as he has spoken them - he puts them in his program notes with his track list information - which I simply copy to a text page and include with the download.\n
For awhile I was including the entire recorded hour of music as an additional single Mp3 song. I haven't been doing that lately, but yours is the only request I've received to resume doing that. I can't have it both ways. I either record individually, song by song, or stream the whole thing and upload as is. I pay for my privilege of access to the music. I don't get to listen to it totally free of charge. If you want it with the voice overs present, and streamed as a complete hour of music, I encourage you to register with Hearts of Space Radio Show on the Internet, and pay for your membership. Then you can support their efforts to provide great music, and also listen to it in any manner that pleases you. You would also have access to their entire recorded library that way. Sorry.. I can't give you a seamless recording of the entire hour now. My Streaming Audio application automatically breaks songs at the "pause" between songs (unless somehow there is NO pause. I've learned that my tinkering with that process only makes the bitrate fall off the deep end and the music that results is horrid. So I don't touch it. I stream record it, make sure the song titles are correct (the tracklist is on the Program Notes for every show on the Hearts of Space website). And then I put it up here.
You want a seamless hour of music, just as you like it, and not as I put it up. Hearts of Space Radio Show needs more subscribers. The cost is $13 a month. I strongly recommend that you subscribe, and get everything you want, exactly as you want it. I pay for my subscription, that's how you get my torrents from it.
