With around 1000 fighters, the Irish Patriots over took several key building and declared The Irish Free State



While the British were busy with the Great War elsewhere, it didn't take them long to send more troops and arrest the patriots.



Most Irish people at the time weren't interested in a Free State but more like Home Rule however, what followed, the court-martials and the shooting of the patriots changed Ireland forever
