Hitler's Henchmen

This series, created by German journalist and author Guido Knopp, is a fascinating look into the lives of Hitler's henchmen. From the Marshall, Hermann Goering, to the Doctor of Death, Josef Mengele, each episode gives an acount of them and their role in the Holocaust.

These documentaries use arhvied footage and narration, with voice overs readng from diaries and journals, to give you a complete picture of these men and the evil they helped commit.

Although they have been attacked by critics for reducing history to "infotainment"and leaving out the Wehrmacht's participation in the cruelties of World War II and for seeming to play down the role the German public had in building and supporting the Third Reich, I believe they are a gateway into serious research of the era. They aren't meant to be detailing everything that happened, merely the circumstances of these particular men's lives and how they were involved in the Reich.
