1996 -- Prince and Mayte were married in Minneapolis, MN, USA (divorced, 2000).

1995 -- Hole is filmed performing live for MTV Unplugged.

I watched my MTV the night this show debuted. Hole aired out my hole in the wall back in the spring of 1995.

I had never before heard "Best Sunday Dress." I more than likely had to pick my jaw up off the floor for the first time of the night with that magic fabric.

Then it all came down hard to "Drown Soda." The small Hole bootleg world had already got coldcocked with this holy almighty shit c/o the BBC back at Christmas 1991.

Flash forward back to "Happy Fucking Valentines Day!" 1995. With her brand new big gulp of Drown Soda, Courtney is now crossing the entire universe off her hit list.

So come on along and ride these high waves of emotion till there is not a dry eye in the house as her songs and fragments of others roll on their burning journey through her heart of darkness.

Kurt's ghost still hovers above never ever over. The haunting memory of his Nirvana Unplugged session still lingers along her fingers.

So there we were five gears in reverse with her first Valentines Day without him.

And here we are now going out of our heads inside our hearts still without him but with her still.

For she sang to us, "If you live through this with me I swear that I would die for you."

Well, I know what I've seen that she's lived through, just as I know that I've seen it through, too.

And it's too late to stop now. Yet a better fate than ever. Until the past goes away once and for all for goodness sake with our dear passing away.
