De familie McAllister gaat wederom op vakantie, dit maal naar Florida. Kevin raakt echter weer afgezonderd van de rest van het gezin, en komt per ongeluk op een vliegtuig naar New York terecht. Gelukkig voor hem heeft hij de creditcard van z'n vader bij zich, en hij besluit het er eens goed van te nemen. De inbrekers uit de vorige film zijn echter weer op vrije voeten, en zij hebben dit maal als doel om een grote speelgoedwinkel te beroven. Kevin probeert hier wederom een stokje voor te steken.

Kevin McCallister is back. But this time he's in New York City with enough cash and credit cards to turn the Big Apple into his very own playground. But Kevin won't be alone for long. The notorious Wet Bandits, Harry and Marv, still smarting from their last encounter with Kevin, are bound for New York too, plotting a huge holiday heist!
