Charlie Luxton visits the Solent – the 20-mile waterway that separates the Isle of Wight from the mainland. Charlie starts his tour in Cowes – the world capital of yachting. In the tiny village of St Lawrence he visits a glass palace; there’s also the Commodore’s House in Cowes; and an amazing gleaming vision in black in Gurnard, which comes with an amazing view. In Hamble le Rice Charlie visits a development of Bauhaus-inspired houses from the 1930s. And in the village of West Wittering, he finds an ordinary-looking house with a fascinating interior.
