University of South Carolina was established and a mainstream variant of the blues-
rock played there.

"Let Her Cry" is a song by American rock group Hootie & the Blowfish. It was released in December 1994 as the second single from their successful 1994 album, Cracked Rear View. The single went on to reach the #2 position on the American Billboard Top 40 Mainstream chart and #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also peaked at #4 on the Australian ARIA Charts. The song also received the Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1996.The founding members were Darius Rucker , Dean Felber, Jim "Soni" Sonefeld and Mark Bryan. The debut album Cracked Rear View (1994) became an instant hit and reached 16 times platinum status in the U.S.. , making it the best-selling album in 1995. Included on the album were four hits Hold My Hand, Let Her Cry, Only Wanna Be with You , and Time. 1995, the band reached agreement with Bob Dylan out of court over unauthorized use of his text to Only Wanna Be With You. 1996 The band won a Grammy for "Best New Artist". Blowfish contributed the song Hey Hey What Can I Do to Encomium , the tribute album to Led Zeppelin, Also, their cover version of the song I Go Blind , originally the soundtrack of the television series Friends released in 1995, became a surprise hit. This is all the more remarkable because this song is not on the album Cracked Rear viiew still on Fairweather Johnson was included. Both songs, Hey Hey What Can I Do and I Go Blind were later on the Raritäten-/B-Seiten-Sammlung Scattered, Smothered and Covered published. In August 2008, the band announced that Darius Rucker wants to focus on his solo career. The band will not absorb any more albums and occur only from time to time as part of their charity foundation.

In 1969, the Baldwin company gave Nelson an amplifier and a three-cord pickup electric guitar. During a show in Helotes, Texas, Nelson left the guitar on the floor of the stage, and it was later stepped on by a drunk man. He sent it to be repaired in Nashville by Shot Jackson, who told Nelson that the damage was too great. Jackson offered him a Martin N-20 Classical guitar, and, at Nelson's request, moved the pickup to the Martin. Nelson purchased the guitar unseen for US$750 and named it after Roy Rogers' horse "Trigger". The next year Nelson rescued the guitar from his burning ranch. Constant strumming with a guitar pick over the decades has worn a large sweeping hole into the guitar's body near the sound hole—the N-20 has no pick-guard since classical guitars are meant to be played fingerstyle instead of with picks. Its soundboard has been signed by over a hundred of Nelson's friends and associates, ranging from fellow musicians to lawyers and football coaches. The first signature on the guitar was Leon Russell's, who asked Nelson initially to sign his guitar. When Nelson was about to sign it with a marker, Russell requested him to scratch it instead, explaining that the guitar would be more valuable in the future. Interested in the concept, Nelson requested Russell also to also sign his guitar. In 1991, during his process with the IRS, Nelson was worried that Trigger could be auctioned off, stating: "When Trigger goes, I'll quit". He asked his daughter, Lana, to take the guitar from the studio before any IRS agent got there, and bring it to him on Maui. Nelson then hid the guitar in his manager's house until his debt was paid in 1993
