Each and every single one of us have not only the desire, but the power to change the world. Maybe you don't have very much time or money. Or maybe you don't know what you want to change. This will tell you a little bit about getting started.

Steps

1 If you already know what you want to change about the world, move to step three. If not, research and get educated about problems in the world.

2 Choose your cause. Maybe you've decided to raise awareness for breast cancer, donate to a special charity, be a blood donor, or volunteer as Red Cross worker. If your cause is unheard of, or you want do several things, that's okay, too.

3 Start small. Little things like voting for candidates you think will help out your cause the most, signing petitions, or visiting sites like TheHungerSite.com and FreeRice.com are excellent ways to change the world in the tiniest way and only take a few minutes, if not seconds and are free.

4 Spread the word. Write to your local newspapers, say something in your Facebook status, wear a t-shirt, give out pamphlets.

5 Donate. Websites such as fmsc.org, say one meal only costs 19 US cents to produce. Most websites will take any amount of money you can give.

6 Volunteer. If you have the money and time to fly yourself to Africa and feed the starving children, you might want to do so, if not, don't feel bad. Volunteering at local libraries, churches, soup kitchens and homeless shelters are excellent places to volunteer.

7 Attend events focusing on your cause.

8 Join a group focusing on your cause, if there's not one, start a group! Libraries will often let you use their facilities for free to start harmless, non-controversial groups. If you can't do that, check out the price for the community building rental.

9 Be passionate about your cause.

10 Getting big now, consider a career helping your cause. A politician, activist, journalist, or a job in ministry are all excellent choices for humanitarians! With a little bit of research, you can probably find hundreds of jobs which could benefit your cause.

Tips

Remember, there's a lot of problems most people don't know about, because mainstream news doesn't talk about them. Also, long after media stops reporting tragedies, there's still people suffering. Like in Haiti, many are still left homeless from the January 2010 earthquake.

Be educated on your cause. That way of someone asks you a question about your cause you know the answer.

You might want to visit your Chamber of Commerce and ask about local non-profit organisations to volunteer or donate to.

Don't forget about individuals. Helping an elderly woman cross the street, holding a door open and smiling are simple ways you can encourage someone to do the same, which will encourage, the people do the same! Which, ultimately, makes the world happier.
