 NAKED LUNCH (festin nui)  Il Pasto Nudo (Naked Lunch) è un romanzo dello scrittore statunitense William S. Burroughs. Il titolo fu un'idea di Jack Kerouac che prese una frase di una poesia dal titolo -Sul lavoro di William Burroughs- dell'amico Allen Ginsberg. Così estremo, disperato e crudo, ne fu inizialmente osteggiata la pubblicazione negli Stati Uniti fino a pochi anni più tardi. Ancora oggi rappresenta una lettura forse difficile, grottesca e fuori dal comune.  Dal libro fu tratto il film omonimo del 1991 diretto da David Cronenberg. Il cd che vado a presentarvi ne è la colonna sonora composta da Howard Shore e Ornette Coleman. I due si sono avvalsi della prestigiosa The London Philarmonic Orchestra che ha anche accompagnato Coleman stesso nei brani da lui composti. Howard Leslie Shore Howard Leslie Shore (Toronto, 18 ottobre 1946) è un compositore canadese di colonne sonore cinematografiche. Ha scritto le musiche dei film della trilogia de Il Signore degli Anelli vincendo il premio oscar nel 2002 per la colonna sonora de Il Signore degli Anelli: La Compagnia dell'Anello e nel 2004 per la colonna sonora de Il Signore degli Anelli: il ritorno del Re e per la canzone "Into the West", interpretata da Annie Lennox. È collaboratore fisso del regista David Cronenberg, per il quale ha scritto numerosi lavori. Numerose sono le collaborazioni con grandi registi per le quali ha vinto anche un Golden globe. Ornette Coleman Ornette Coleman (Fort Worth, 9 marzo 1930) è un sassofonista e compositore statunitense. È stato uno dei fondatori del movimento free jazz negli anni sessanta.
