Trama:
Attesissimo terzo capitolo del fenomeno cinematografico campione d’incassi, che ha incendiato gli schermi di tutto il mondo.
Qui la storia arriva ad un livello nuovo ed esilarante, e la cronaca futuristica di Katniss Everdeen si apre a nuove avventure. Mentre i Giochi sono stati cancellati per sempre, la lotta per la sopravvivenza va intensificandosi. Di fronte ad una realtà scoraggiante - e con lo sguardo di una nazione piena di speranza - Katniss deve usare il suo coraggio, la sua forza ed il suo potere contro l'onnipotente Capitol City. Questo è il momento in cui si rende conto di non avere altra scelta, se non di spiegare le ali ed incarnare pienamente il simbolo della Ghiandaia Imitatrice. Per salvare Peeta, deve diventare una leader. La storia inizia con Katniss che è riuscita a salvarsi dalla devastazione dell’Edizione della Memoria. Si risveglia in un mondo sconvolgente, che non sapeva nemmeno esistesse: un Distretto 13 sotterraneo ed oscuro, apparentemente raso al suolo. Da lì capisce subito la realtà sconcertante che deve affrontare: il Distretto 12 è stato trasformato in macerie; e Peeta è stato rapito, portato a Capitol City, e sottoposto ad un processo di depistaggio – una sorta di lavaggio del cervello - dal Presidente Snow. Allo stesso tempo, davanti agli occhi di Katniss si apre una ribellione di segreta e rapida diffusione del Distretto 13 in tutta Panem – un’insurrezione che la metterà al centro di un audace complotto, per assalire Capitol City e porre fine alla tirannia del Presidente Snow.
