The conclusion seems to be unanimous: the wealthy soon seem to realise that the status and wealth do not reduce their sense of sadness. Quite the opposite.

From our earliest age the advertisers and the consumerist society keep drilling into us the illusion that hoarding the material wealth is the only way, only to realise that the sense of emptiness gets deeper as our material wealth grows larger.

The world we live in is like a musical instrument that's gone badly out of tune. The challenge is to tune it back again so we can feel the harmony that we've never known, in preference to the unbearable noise of modernity in which we find ourselves trapped and seemingly helpless to pull out of.
