TRAMA:

Hip è un'adolescente che fa parte di una famiglia di cavernicoli, i Crood. Un tempo la sua famiglia faceva parte di un gruppo di cavernicoli più numeroso, che a poco a poco è stato decimato dai predatori, dai mammuth, dalle zanzare e dal freddo. Il padre e capofamiglia Grug è iperprotettivo verso tutti i suoi familiari e permette loro di uscire dalla caverna solo per cacciare.
Una notte Hip, incuriosita da una luce, esce dalla caverna e incontra Guy, un nomade che predice la fine del mondo e sa maneggiare il fuoco, insieme al bradipo Laccio. Colpito dalla ragazza, Guy le regala una conchiglia da suonare in caso di pericolo e la lascia. Poco dopo Hip viene raggiunta dal padre che, accortosi della sua assenza, era uscito dalla caverna per cercarla. Dopo aver riportato a casa la figlia, Grug la mette in punizione per aver disubbidito alle sue regole e distrugge la conchiglia temendola un pericolo; proprio in quel momento un terremoto distrugge il canyon dove vive la famiglia e apre le porte ad un mondo completamente nuovo.

STORYLINE:

The Croods is a prehistoric comedy adventure that follows the world's first family as they embark on a journey of a lifetime when the cave that has always shielded them from danger is destroyed. Traveling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures -- and their outlook is changed forever.
