TRAMA:

Il malvagio mago Gargamella per farsi aiutare nel suo intento di ottenere la magica essenza dei Puffi, crea Pestifera e Frullo una coppia di creature che chiama Monelli. Dopo aver scoperto che solo un vero Puffo può fornirgli ciò che gli serve e che solo Puffetta conosce una formula per trasformare i Monelli in veri Puffi, il mago rapisce Puffetta e la porta a Parigi, dove è considerato il più potente mago del mondo. Per salvare la loro compagna il Grande Puffo, Brontolone, Vanitoso e Tontolone tornano nell'altro mondo e per farsi aiutare si riuniscono a Patrick e Grace Winslow.

STORYLINE:

The evil wizard Gargamel creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence. But when he discovers that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants, and only a secret spell that Smurfette knows can turn the Naughties into real Smurfs, Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and brings her to Paris, where he has been winning the adoration of millions as the world¹s greatest sorcerer. It's up to Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity to return to our world, reunite with their human friends Patrick and Grace Winslow, and rescue her! Will Smurfette, who has always felt different from the other Smurfs, find a new connection with the Naughties Vexy and Hackus or will the Smurfs convince her that their love for her is True Blue?

I Puffi

Oltre ai sei puffi già apparsi nel primo film, nel sequel viene dato maggior spazio a Puffo Vanitoso, che nel precedente lungometraggio aveva una visibilità molto ridotta.
Altri puffi introdotti nel sequel sono: Social Puff, Puffo Golosone (un puffo molto sovrappeso, lontano a livello visivo dal Puffo Golosone della serie televisiva, che qui assume il nome di Puffo Chef), Puffo Organizzoso e Puffo Ingenuo. Fa inoltre la sua comparsa anche Puffo Passivo Aggressivo, che nel film precendente era solo citato.
Puffo Coraggioso e Puffo Quattrocchi, protagonisti del primo film, sono presenti anche in questo sequel, ma in misura minore. Anche Puffo Narratore, Puffo Forzuto, Puffo Chef e altri sono presenti in questo film, come nel precendente.
I due ingressi più importanti sono però quelli di Pestifera e Frullo, due esserini creati da Gargamella con la stessa tecnica con cui aveva creato anni addietro Puffetta. I due, dal colore grigio spento, non possono ancora essere definiti puffi perché mancanti della tipica colorazione blu. Nel corso del film, grazie all'essenza puffa, i due diventeranno puffi a tutti gli effetti.

Umani

Oltre a Grace e Patrick Wislow, già presenti nel primo film, appaiono il piccolo Blu, figlio della coppia di giovani sposi, e Victor Doyle, il patrigno di Patrick. Non è più presente, invece, il personaggio di Odile.

I cattivi

La fanno a padroni, nella parte dei divertentissimi cattivi, Gargamella e il suo gatto Birba.
