TRAMA:

I Segreti Di Osage County è l'oscura, esilarante, e profondamente commovente, storia delle caparbie donne della famiglia Weston. La vita di ciascuna di loro ha preso una direzione diversa, ma una crisi familiare le riporta ancora una volta nella casa in cui sono cresciute nel Midwest, dove ritrovano la donna che le ha cresciute. L'omonima pièce teatrale di Tracy Letts, da cui il film è tratto, ha vinto il Premio Pulitzer ed è andata in scena per la prima volta sul palco del leggendario Steppenwolf Theatre di Chicago nell'estate del 2007, prima di esordire a Broadway nel dicembre dello stesso anno. Le rappresentazioni sono continuate con successo in una tournée internazionale e nel 2008 la pièce ha vinto cinque Tony Awards, tra cui quello per la Miglior Commedia.

STORYLINE:

Violet Weston (Meryl Streep) has cancer and a propensity for pills and alcohol. She's a difficult woman to deal with and her husband has finally had enough. Violet's family gathers including youngest daughter Ivy, middle daughter Karen (with her new fiancé), eldest daughter Barbara (with her separated husband and teenage daughter), and her sister Mattie Fae (with her husband and son in tow). A family tragedy causes tensions to run high and secrets to come out. The Weston women will be forced to examine themselves and their lives whether they want to or not. Welcome to Osage County, Oklahoma in the sweltering heat of August.
