TRAMA:

Sulla costa settentrionale di Long Island, nel West Egg, si trasferisce un giovane e promettente agente di borsa, Nick Carraway, che affitta una piccola casa senza pretese circondata dalle sontuose dimore dei nuovi ricchi. La più bella, senza dubbio, è il palazzo acquistato dal miliardario Jay Gatsby, gentiluomo misterioso e affascinante che tutti i fine settimana dà dei party a cui tutta la città partecipa senza invito. Unico a vedersi recapitato un biglietto per uno di questi eventi, è proprio Nick. Si scopre, in seguito, che Gatsby ha acquistato il suddetto palazzo poiché dall'altra parte della baia, a East Egg, abita la donna che ha amato cinque anni prima, Daisy, e dal suo molo si vede una luce verde, che lampeggia davanti al molo di lei, simbolo di un sentimento mai del tutto sopito; Jay vuole a tutti i costi conquistarsi la fiducia e la stima del vicino per poter così arrivare alla ragazza, cugina di Nick, ormai sposata e madre di una bimba di tre anni. Nel corso del film verrà a galla la verità su Gatsby, e su molti segreti che si nascondono dietro la facciata dei lussi e degli agi. Segreti da cui non avrà scampo e che finiranno per decretare la sua fine.

STORYLINE:

An adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's Long Island-set novel, where Midwesterner Nick Carraway is lured into the lavish world of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby. Soon enough, however, Carraway will see through the cracks of Gatsby's nouveau riche existence, where obsession, madness, and tragedy await.
