Nick Harper, archeologo e avventuriero, con l'aiuto del famoso archeologo Duraid Al Simma e della giovane moglie di questi Royan, scopre la tomba di Taita, uno schiavo che, quattromila anni prima, praticava le

più antiche arti magiche. Insieme decifrano una serie di preziosi papiri in essa contenuti. Ma il Settimo Papiro, nel quale Taita rivela dove si trova la tomba con le enormi ricchezze del Faraone Mamose, è

parzialmente danneggiato e illeggibile. Intanto la storia del ricco tesoro nascosto è trapelata e collezionisti avidi e ricchi come Grant Schiller, insieme alla sua compagna e socia Gina Valentino, farebbero

qualsiasi cosa per impadronirsene. Una notte, dei misteriosi sicari invadono il laboratorio di Duraid che viene ferito a morte. Royan, che è riuscita a salvarsi con Hapi, il figlio adottivo - da essi

misteriosamente trovato abbandonato in una cesta sulla riva del fiume quando era ancora neonato -, non ha più i papiri di Taita, ma le è rimasta una traccia che porta alla zona in cui si trova la tomba

segreta......

Storyline

In the year 3000 BC an illegitimate son is born to Queen Lostris and the brave warrior Tanus. Her devoted eunuch Taita, a loyal servant, takes the baby boy and places him in a basket on the Nile. Five thousand

years later, during our time, famous archaeologist Duraid al Simma and his wife Royan discover Queen Lostris's grave at the same spot, with ten scrolls inside it resembling a form of diary. The seventh scroll,

which contains directions to Mamose's magnificent tomb with the legendary treasure, disappears without trace. Soon afterwards the couple adopt an unusual boy who displays an almost magical urge to be close to

the Nile, so they name him after the river god Hapi. It is only ten years later that Taita's secret is almost solved. Fanatical art thief Schiller is also very curious about the information, and tries to track

down more with the aid of his sidekick Boris. Whe Duraid dies during a struggle for possession of the scroll...
