About Inertia Blooms

In this time, in this town, in this place; were trying to build an empire

Inertia Blooms are an exciting quintet located in Birmingham. They formed in March 2006 with a common vision of combining electronica, post and prog rock.

The five piece recorded their debut EP Hostages are Cheaper than Friends in a week in July at the Works Studio in Manchester which has been home to some great acts such as Oceansize, Amplifier and Snoop Dogg.

Unfortunately artistic vision and budget rarely go hand in hand and the EP is not the best recorded in the world*. Fortunately, the quality of the songs however still shine through leading Metal Hammer Magazine in September 2006 to award the band 9/10 and described the band as amazing.

Inertia Blooms have also been lucky enough to hone their live experience playing with the likes of Amplifier (Music for Nations), Frank Turner (Ex Million Dead, Xtra Mile Recordings), Capulet (featuring Oceansize bassist New Steve, Motive Sounds), Foals (Try Harder Records), The Mirimar Disaster (Phallus Retard), Great Eskimo Hoax, From the Shards of Comets!, and also At Sea, Stem and Horse Called Chariot.

8 months from their inception the future looks bright for this electronically tinted progressive post-rock five piece particularly now they feel they have hit their writing niche; recently penning their finest songs to date which have been described as stunning at their live performances. With such an exciting start to this bands career who can tell what the future holds for the next 8 months?
