If your wanting to extend your ram limit on windows 7 or windows 8 using
the kernel patcher from the mem 4gb limit patcher torrent

and have a crappy Intel HD 3000 graphics then you will get either a black
screen when login prompt appears on fresh reboot or login

or random graphics corruption and lockup or crash in Windows 8

then this Patch Driver for HD is needed.

sadly it dont work for win 8 by looks. and hasnt been tested if works with HD 2000 or 4000.. someone will have to test i guess. Maybes theres a XP for HD 4000
that can be edited to work if not.

but works fine on my Windows 7 32bit Pro and Ultimates with HP Probook 4530s
(I did have a switched 2nd card to Radeon 6490m but that blow up in laptop over cooked perhaps
last week and the system switched back t the internal so this is when I noticed
the PAE tweak no longer worked)

It appears Intel tech driver writers are too lame to patch all win 7 and 8 to have PAE
extended memory support.. but it was found a XP driver for the HD 3000 series
did have the support so its be modifed by some clever coders in the community
to now allow it to install on Windows 7.

it also support up to 1366 x 758 graphics range and has some directx support
fro direct draw and OpenGL but laxks APG textures

SO AERO support is not available and of course restricts even more games working.

Boot to non PAE kernel or maybe safe mode so
using VGA driver or HD driver in normal 32bit memory

Install the patched driver by
Device Manager
-> Your Graphics Chip
-> Update Driver
-> Browse my computer…
-> Let me pick…
-> Have disk
-> Browse to the GRAPHICS folder with the INF file

You will have to agree to install unsigned drivers
2nd prompt when the big banner pops up


Change the Windows 7 theme to Windows 7 Basic or
WIndows 7 Classic

Restart and select the modified 4+ GB RAM kernel from the boot menu and NOW working with HD graphics

dont run setup for the normal XP driver install though :)

Other alternatives to this driver for windows is

to use only the MS VGA driver but that dont have directx support and
limited to 1024 pixels which is a 4:3 ratio not 16:9 so you would have to
force VLC media player to 4:3 radio else the videos will seem to be stretch
or edit the advance settings and fit the monitor 4:3

also VGA driver and PAE memory works together but not Intel HD 3000

Until someone manages to get Intel to do the right thing and add PAE support
in their 43bit new HD drivers
