In 1982, Shabooh Shoobah was released successfully worldwide. The single "The One Thing" (also a video featuring the band eating, drinking and being merry at a long white table) brought them their first Top-30 hit in United States, and was also a Top-20 hit in Canada, while "Don't Change" became a staple in the set list of college rock bands who played the frat circuit. The album itself entered the U.S. Top-50. INXS played alongside many of their contemporaries on New Wave Day at the 1983 US Festival. Many songs from this album were featured prominently in the film Reckless. The film, starring Darryl Hannah and Aidan Quinn, followed the classic 80's teen angst formula.
