You need a minimum of a dual core processor to play x265 videos. If you have an older or slower dual core computer I suggest you use the latest potplayer. It plays x265 hevc videos more efficiently. I tested it on the slowest box I have. It is an 8 year old 2.4 ghz core2, 2 gigs of ram, WinXP, on mobo video. Using potplayer it will play this video with no problem. My windows 7 64bit box has no problem but it is much newer. By the way, there is no need to post your message four times. If you register and get a account on KAT you will experience less lag on the site. There is a delay for anonymous users.

Why does the title say mkv if it is HEVC?
For Mac, you just need latest vlc, 2.2.1, to play file.

An mkv is just a container for video and audio. You can put almost any video in a mkv For example MKV's can contain mpg's, x264, x265, real video, xvid, vp8, vp9, wmv and others. Some people put an x265 file in an mp4, but that limits their audio and subtitle options.
